Foster + Partners Industrial Design launches new website

Foster + Partners Industrial Design has launched its own website and Instagram account. The new platforms showcase the studio’s process of designing, prototyping, and making – and communicate its diverse portfolio of work. The team’s input into architectural commissions is presented alongside products for manufacturers, demonstrating the design by making approach that runs through every project.

Mike Holland, Head of Industrial Design, Foster + Partners, said: “The new website illustrates our strong ethos of collaboration and exploration, which we have developed working with partners at all scales, from large scale manufacturers to start-ups. We look forward to building on these relationships and continuously evolving our design approach, which is always driven by curiosity, conversation, and the shared process of making.”

Since the studio was established, the level of service and the team’s output has naturally evolved. The studio started out creating site-specific solutions for architectural projects – some of which evolved into independent ventures. As its reputation grew, manufacturers began to approach the studio directly to create standalone products and ranges at a commercial scale.

Today, the team balances their time between creating bespoke elements, furniture and fixtures for architectural projects and designing for its own expanding client base. The studio’s unique approach is continuously informed by both sets of collaborators, who offer different skills and insights. Every project is advanced through prototyping and making as an iterative approach – refining designs through trial and error, digital modelling, and physical craftsmanship.
