Chris graduated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne University with a BA in architectural studies. He joined Foster + Partners in 1993 and initially worked on various competitions, including the winning entries for major developments at Lisbon Expo '98, the King Faisal Foundation in Riyadh and HM Treasury in London. More recently he has worked on a hotel, residences and retail complex in Shenzhen; a 50,000sqm University for the China Resources Group in Shenzhen; and a 1.2m sqm mixed–use complex at Hangzhou. He was made senior partner in 2017.
