Foster + Partners’ Warsaw office is located on the 44th floor of Varso Tower – the European Union’s tallest building (310 metres) – which was designed by the practice and completed in 2022. Made up of multiple nationalities, the international studio is the practice’s largest team in Europe, with the exception of London.
The open plan office space offers unparalleled views of the city skyline and the historic Palace of Culture and Science below. At its heart, a client-facing kitchen and two large corner meeting rooms act as spaces for meetings, talks, and events. The team has breakfast together on a weekly basis, celebrate special occasions in the office, and host summer and Christmas parties within the office. Situated at the corner of Jana Pawla II and Chmielna Street, Varso Tower is part of a wider mixed-use development that offers a range of state-of-the-art amenities and direct connections to the city’s central train station.
The Warsaw studio is supporting the development of the practice’s CPK airport project, which is located between Warsaw and Łódź. This mirrors the practice’s decision to set up an office in Hong Kong, while working on the city’s new airport in the early 1990s. This was a period of incredible optimism in Hong Kong and the airport was seen as a step change that would put the city ahead of its competitors. In the same way, the new CPK airport will be a pivotal project for Poland, completely transforming travel across the country and beyond.
In addition to Varso Tower, the practice previously completed the Metropolitan office development in Warsaw, and is currently focused on other projects in Poland and the wider region.
